Improve Health. Lose Weight. Live Long.

New, All Natural Weight-Loss Program

Our 12-week program is individualized, personal and private.
It iis designed to achieve and maintain an optimal cardiovascular fitness level and provides the ideal environment for initiating physiological and behavioral changes that will help you lose weight and improve your health. Here's how it works:

Step 1: Medical evaluation and monitoring
Weight Loss EvaluationIt begins with a thorough medical evaluation and includes a complete diagnostic panel that includes:
Routine blood work, including cholesterol
Electrocardiogram and blood pressure monitoring
Carotid artery screening
Screening for peripheral arterial disease
Dietary assessment and body mass index (BMI) calculation

The cardiologist Sameer Azhak, reviews individual findings with each participant. He identifies areas of concern and tailors a personalized 12-week program, which includes a detailed nutrition regimen and private, personalized training with an exercise physiologist.

Once the program begins, participants meet individually with the cardiologist once each week for heart monitoring and ongoing nutrition counseling and encouragement.

Step 2: The Nutrition Program
Weight Loss NutritionProper nutrition is essential to achieving and maintaining good health. Healthy eating habits improve cardiovascular conditioning, muscle tone and joint flexibility.

Our program is based on adopting a whole foods, plant-based diet. Unlike processed foods, which take up to three times longer to break down in the body, natural whole foods break down within 24 hours and leave no chemicals. This diet even allows some consumption of meat but encourages substitution of chicken and fish.

It is not necessary to reduce food intake. Participants may eat what they want as long as they follow certain guidelines, which includes switching to whole foods high in fiber and nutrients, and adding a prescribed amount of fruits and vegetables each day.

There are no weight-loss drinks, supplements or pre-packaged meals.

Step 3: Supervised Exercise
weight-loss-program-exerciseParticipants meet twice weekly at nearby Blueprint Fitness Personal Training Studio, where they receive private assistance and encouragement from certified exercise physiologists.

Each exercise session is led by trained staff working under the direction of a cardiologist. The supervised exercise program is conducted in private at Blueprint Fitness. The facilities include the latest equipment, such as treadmills, stationary bicycles, rowing machines, arm ergometers and weight training.

Personal, hands-on supervision and assistance is afforded to each participant.

Step 4: Ongoing medical monitoring and support
Weight Loss Program MonitoringThroughout the 12-program, the participant's progress is reviewed and the exercise prescription is updated to reflect current fitness levels. Blood pressure and electrocardiogram rhythm strips are recorded monthly. Telemetry monitoring is recorded at scheduled intervals to assess arrhythmias, re-evaluate risk factors and evaluate the cardiovascular response to the exercise recommendation.
